Learn how to throw on the potters wheel. This is the perfect class to get to know pottery, during 4 sessions for 3 hours you will learn the basics of throwing on the wheel.
In the first two sessions I will guide you through the process, from preparing your clay, to how to center it on the wheel and throw vessels. You will also get to know different types of clay bodies, their qualities and differences.
The third session is all about trimming, you will learn how to refine your piece thrown in the sessions before and how to recycle the leftovers.
In the fourth session you can glaze and decorate your bisque fired pieces and get general insights into the glazing and firing process. A selection of different glazes will be provided and the finished pieces can be picked up two weeks later.
The last 10 minutes of each session are reserved to clean your workspace. The Workshop takes place in a small group of max. 5 participants at my studio, Kirschgarten 3, Mainz
